“For the Lord of hosts has purposed it, and who will annul it? His hand is stretched out, and who will turn it back?” ~ Isaiah 14:27
This quote comes out of the mouth of the seraph angel Adoram in The Book of Rodney. I find it very comforting. And a little scary. I mean, if God wants something to happen in your life, it’s going to happen. No one can foil His plans. Not even you. Most of the time, this verse makes me happy. But sometimes (like right now, for instance) I have a plan for my life that just doesn’t seem to be working out. And when I read this verse I remember that I’m not in control. And if His plan, doesn’t line up with my plan, it doesn’t matter how hard I try to get my plan into action–it isn’t going to work. So I need to trust Him and take my hands off the wheel. Because whatever He has in mind for me is going to happen anyway. And, thank God for that, right?
Very true! What a blessing that God is in control, because we mess up enough, thinking we know better.
